KOUG is a student-operated radio station on the WSU Vancouver campus, streaming on the Internet 24/7. KOUG offers a multitude of shows ranging from the unique student podcasts to the latest and freshest music to hit the airwaves, each a reflection of the on-air personality of the host.
Diversity in programming is one of the goals of the KOUG staff in order to better serve students and the local community.

Station Manager

The station manager is responsible for coordinating KOUG Radio staff and representing the station in the Student Media Board.

Hello world! My name is Michael and I am the newest station manager (as of typing this). I’m very excited to be in this role and continue the incredible work that all the previous staff have already done. As far as music goes, I typically listen to a lot of classic rock like The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and The Who with a lot of particular love for Queen, David Bowie, and Billy Joel. In my free time I play video games, build plastic model kits, and cook.

Heyo! My name is Kylie Sickles, and I’m your current station manager! I’m so thrilled to be on the team bringing this organization back, and seeing it be revitalized after COVID has been a dream come true. I love alternative and pop music – my favorite artists include Bastille, Glass Animals, Oh Wonder, and, of course, Taylor Swift. In my free time I love sewing, crocheting, and playing video games. Nick Robinson

Technical Director, Fall 2023-Spring 2024
Hello! I’m Nick Robinson and I work as a tech at KOUG Radio! I’m excited to be able to work with the various DJ’s and Podcasters to help get things running smoothly. I’m a big fan of synth rock and indie pop/rock. I tend to play video games in my free time, but I’m also a 3D printing hobbyist with an interest in VR tech!

Paiten Madsen

Sup! My name is Paiten Madsen and I’m one of the technical directors for Koug Radio! Helping revitalize KOUG Radio after Covid has been a fun process, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we are able to produce with the DJ’s and podcasters to come! My taste in music is broad with almost any genre having something I enjoy. But most of the time I gravitate towards alternative, rock, hip hop or pop such as Arctic Monkeys, Linkin Park, Eminem, Twenty One Pilots, and Gorillaz. In my spare time I’m snowboarding, playing video games, drawing, or ingesting some form of media.

Hey everyone! My name is Haley Pistole, and I’m your Music and Programming Director here at KOUG Radio! I’m so excited about reviving our college radio station in my senior year, and making it a place for students to be creative and show off their passions. In my free time, I love being with my friends and family, watching my favorite shows and movies, reading romance and fantasy books, and playing piano and guitar. Ben Peterson

Social Media Director, Spring 2023
Hiya! My name is Ben Peterson, and I’m the social media director at KOUG Radio! Building KOUG Radio back from the ground up has been a super fulfilling process, and it lets me use all my creative skills as well. I love Hip Hop and Jazz music – my favorite artists include Kenny Beats, Tame Impala, Childish Gambino, as well as Miles Davis and Cannonball Adderly. A few of my hobbies outside of work include gaming, DJing, making videos, and composing music. I hope you enjoy all the content we make and post at KOUG Radio!
